I cannot disagree that words have power, and I have made all these arguments myself, but the quote from shadow spinner (which I loved, btw) is a bit to broad to be taken literally. In all the situations where one would have to pit words against weapons the key point is always, *Will anyone listen?*

If not for listeners, there is nothing for the words to work upon, and they can have no power. We can't forget that part of the equation.

I have just finished reading "Honey" and was delighted to find this blog. I am a writer and book lover myself and am so excited for the chance to be sharing literature with my three boys (4, 3 and 2). Your book echoed so many of my own feelings and enlightened me to so much I was not aware of. THANK YOU!
